Nike: Joy of Sports
Introduction
Joy of Sports is a promotional campaign with Nike centered around a one-day sports event, where players were invited to participate in dunk challenges. Each player’s motion and experience were captured using special camera effects, and personalized graphics were generated to create unique digital sports cards, distributed to participants as a memorable takeaway.

The Ask
Nike needed interactive tools to support its Joy of Sports campaign - an initiative designed to “find joy in movement, play and competition - and use their participation as fuel for confidently pursuing their respective goals”. As part of the campaign, Nike hosted a one-day sports event and sought digital branding and experiential design to promote the experience and engage participants, including interactive elements to capture and celebrate each player's dunk in a memorable, shareable way.
The Answer
I worked with another interaction/graphic designer to design the end-to-end experience of how players engaged with the campaign at the event. Participants were invited to perform a dunk, which was captured using custom camera setups and enhanced with special motion effects. We then created a series of dynamic, personalized digital sports cards - each one visually celebrating the player’s performance and distributed as a memorable takeaway after the event.
The Result
The event hosted over 100 participants, each performing a dunk and receiving a personalized digital sports card. The resulting artifacts contributed to a 20% increase in social media engagement for the Joy of Sports campaign and achieved a 95%+ client satisfaction rate.
