Introduction
Story.Earth is a web-based learning ecosystem that advances STEM education through immersive storytelling and planetary visualizations. By combining maps, globes, and interactive tools, it deepens students’ understanding of Earth system science and fosters environmental stewardship.
Story.Earth features thought-provoking geovisualizations from partners including Globaïa, NASA, NOAA, and the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. Launched in February 2025, it is now available to schools and classrooms across the U.S. and internationally.
The Ask
WorldLink needed a web-based digital learning ecosystem for their Story.Earth initiative that would engage students through immersive storytelling tools powered by emerging technologies like augmented reality. They also required a gallery-style archive for easy access to educational imagery.
In addition, the project called for the development of Story.Earth’s brand identity, and an overall design aligned with national education standards, including NGSS.
The Answer
I worked closely with the President of WorldLink, their Creative Director, teachers from partner schools, and content partners including Globaïa, NASA, NOAA, and the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. The project began with a discovery phase, where I led workshops to develop initial concepts, information architecture, moodboards, and site maps for the Story.Earth platform.
I then prototyped multiple rounds of web interfaces and mockups, exploring both the web-based AR and gallery experiences. The final deliverables included high-fidelity screens, detailed user flows, interaction specifications for developer handoff, and a full set of brand identity assets, including the Story.Earth logo and visual style guide.

The Result
Story.Earth officially launched in February 2025 and is now integrated into STEM programs across schools and classrooms in the U.S. and internationally. Its successful fusion of emerging technology and immersive visual storytelling has also attracted funding support from global initiatives such as the Cisco Foundation and Equinix Foundation.
